What We're Looking At
Dixie Caverns, one of the many show caves in Virginia. The price of entrance is lower than most but the cave is very nice and well maintained. Unusual in that for most of your time underground you are actually at a higher altitude than the parking lot. The cave is in a small mountain and you spend a good part of the tour walking up inside it. At the highest point you can see the natural entrance where the dog Dixie fell in, two boys discovered the cavern while rescuing their dog.
