From Andrew Alden, About.com

Looking southeast from the shoulder of Fremont Peak, the fault can be seen in the valley of Bird Creek. (more below)

Bird Creek runs down the canyon in the foreground, then turns right at the fault. The land in the valley and in the foreground is part of Hollister Hills Offroad Park, so the fault here is accessible, but not to the casual visitor unless you have a dirt bike or can talk your way in without one. A pressure ridge called Radio Ridge marks the fault inside the park, and one can picnic there. To go farther on the fault, we must drive back down San Juan Canyon Road and make our way past Hollister to Cienega Road, which passes by the other side of the offroad park.
