Geology of California's Great Central Valley

California's Central Valley is also called the Great Valley. By either name it is a defining feature of the state's geography as well as a unique geologic feature. Mostly known as flat and productive farmland, the Great Central Valley is also full of geologic interest for those with eyes to see. After a bit of introduction, this gallery runs up the west side of the valley, then down the east side.
