Here's a typical ridge. It's about 5 meters high, elevated enough that spruce trees can grow without drowning. There are many of these in the Alsek delta, running roughly parallel to the coast and mountains, perpendicular to the river. Between the ridges are areas of alder thickets and strips of swampy muskegbear country.
