Finally the weather turned clear, and my party of three set out into town in our rented truck to get supplies and be flown one at a time to Schooner Beach, near the edge of Malaspina Glacier. That's my co-explorers Dot Carmichael and Tom Atwood in the truck, a typical USGS field vehicle; chief scientist Bruce Molnia is doing some negotiating, or maybe just chatting.
