Basic Rock Collections
These look like collections put together by someone who knows what rocks matter and what ones don't: for instance the metamorphic collection has four different schists, the sedimentary one has four lime rocks (I might have replaced one with a chert), and the igneous one happily includes anorthosite (rare in most places except for the Moon and a large chunk of New York vacationland). The collections would suit you no matter where you live, not just in Colorado. These aren't a complete solution for the beginner, but farther down the page are lots of helpful add-ons.
