Plate Boundaries, Eastern Hemisphere

This map is configured to show the plate boundaries of the eastern hemisphere to advantage. It also shows the lithospheric dynamics along these boundaries: the simple picture of the early plate tectonics theory has given way to a more complex one (for a simpler outline map, see the basic plates map). Many plate boundaries are wide zones of activity, especially across the heart of Asia.
