Provenance Diagrams

I've constructed versions of the widely used QFL and QmFLt provenance diagrams for your use and edification. These are tools that translate the blend of minerals in a given sandstone into a particular kind of terrane, or geological homeland, that eroded to form that blend. The concept seems simple when you spell it out in words (as I do in my new article "Rock Provenance by Petrographic Methods"), but to turn an idea into a diagrammatic tool the authors gathered hundreds of detailed analyses of North American sandstonesand boiled the data down to the clean result shown in my Sedimentary Rock Classification Diagrams collection.
