Being online can be a sterile experience. Certainly you can learn a lot about geology on the Web, but sooner or later even the most acquisitive and agile mind needs to get out there in the field. For those new to this experience, I offer "Where to Look for Rocks and Minerals." While it's nice to see a child's wonder and bottomless curiosity choosing stones at the beach, there are better places to learn, especially if you can take that attitude with you.
