The Carbonate Minerals

carbonate mineralsOnward I march through the major minerals, upgrading as I go. Today it's the carbonates, an interesting assortment of two really major minerals (calcite and dolomite) and a gaggle of minor ones—minor in abundance but significant economically and popular with collectors. You won't see most of these in the field, but they are found in almost any rock shop and at all mineral shows.
