"We Agree with the IPCC"

When the public arena fills with hectic chatter and sonorous declamations about the conspiracies behind carbon control and responses to future climate change, it might be good to look to the experts in climate science. At Texas A&M University, the faculty of atmospheric sciences posts a calm and simple Climate Change Statement over 22 of their names:

  1. "It is virtually certain that the climate is warming, and that it has warmed by about 0.7 deg. C over the last 100 years.
  2. "It is very likely that humans are responsible for most of the recent warming.
  3. "If we do nothing to reduce our emissions of greenhouse gases, future warming will likely be at least two degrees Celsius over the next century.
  4. "Such a climate change brings with it a risk of serious adverse impacts on our environment and society."

The claim that humans are definitely responsible for climate change flies in the face of Prof Richard Lindzen’s (MIT)claim that if humans are adding to climate heating then he is unable to find it and the proof is lost in the noise. CO2 never drove climate in the past so why would it now?
If the climate is warming then warm is better than cold I assure you and extra CO2 in the atmosphere will help to grow extra crops. The truth is the GMST has dropped for the last ten years, based on surface measurements, but based on satellite data there has been no warming since 1979! Look at the data not the models, or is it easier to click a mouse than actually use the grey matter!

Sir,
Please consider the man behind the curtain.

Regarding AGW, a layman can recognize the science is not disinterested.

And it’s no coincidence that the endgame is: Government gains power and citizens lose freedom and wealth.

To understand the “interest” that science has in analyzing and presenting facts and data, see Andrews post of March 4th about “How Science Works”.

The professionally dedicated men and women who are involved in scientific research on climate change probably have little time, patience or inclination to engage in the mediocre fantasies and conspiracies that obsess and entertain the “ditto-head” minds of AM talk radio listeners.
