Plea for Pet Rocks
Tuesday November 25, 2008
All right, enough hard stuff for a while. Let's bring out our favorite pet rocks. You know, the stones you keep around for no other reason than that they're adorable. Yesterday I showed a visitor my pet serpentinite boulder, and I swear he started petting it. THAT kind of pet rock. You'll see it right after this curious cobble in my pet rocks gallery. There's plenty of room for your contributionsend me a good photo, maybe 1000 pixels so I can make sure it looks its best.My oldest pet rock Geology Guide photo

Despite the fact that I’m not a geologist; I am so much fond of rocks with a less than moderate knowledge at Geology. I have got a variety of rocks which I consider so special, some of which show they were real living creatures one day, probably millions of years ago. some of them are fish, most of them are birds. They are in a variety of coloration.
But the most outstanding rock of all is one I found in the desert a few months ago. Although it is too small to be an asteroide, I have strong feeling it can be one end of a broken asteroid. It is about 20 centimetres long, too small you see!. The real end of it has a ccore material branching into a penta star from the center to the surronding surface. They form five main branches going out fron the center straight to the surface. They also are forming longitudinal lines, straight to the other end. The Main five hands of the pentagon are also paralleled be other tiny lines similar to the same material (the material of the rock is black and the lines are light brown. The surface of the stone is coveren with diamond like small to tiny crystals.
The question now is: How can I make sure this is a real part of an asteroide. If you go to my English Netlog account (SaiidSoliman_005), you can see pics of thi stone there. Deplorably I do not know how to upload it here so far.
I need your help
