Mother's Dinosaur Cookies: Extinct

Saturday October 11, 2008
dinosaur cookiesThis is a local story, but indulge me: The Mother's Cookie Company, an Oakland institution for more than 90 years, filed for bankruptcy yesterday, putting an end to a variety of special snacks and treats, most notably the Dinosaur Grrrahams (they were hip before Talk Like a Pirate Day). The firm was bought out by a larger cookie conglomerate a few years ago, and as so often happens, that was the end. Support your local bakers, especially if they make dinosaur cookies. Meanwhile, there is currently a viewing in my modest Lighter Side Dinosaur Gallery.

Whhaaatt?! These only dropped out a year ago? I’ve been wishing for these for ten years, thinking they were long gone. Oh man. I need to set up an Ebay saved search.
