Emiliani Back in Print

A while back I named Planet Earth, by the late Cesare Emiliani, as my by-far favorite geology textbook, but lamented that it was probably an orphan title because the author died shortly after its publication in 1992. But yesterday I found it listed in the Cambridge University Press catalog and on the virtual shelves of online booksellers. I am so happy that Emiliani's effervescent treatment of rocks, the Earth and the universe lives on. (Disclaimer: I was present at this book's creation as a manuscript editor. Its beauty was all the author's work and none of mine.)
