The northern San Andreas fault

Wednesday June 27, 2007
The first batch of pictures from my San Andreas fault field trip is up on the gallery of the northern fault. I'm starting at the north end and working down, so today we have photos from the Alder Creek locality, where the fault begins. So to speak. In my galleries for the northern section and the creeping section, the action goes north to south whereas those for the central or 1857 segment and the southern segment go from south to north. That's because to me, all roads lead to the Parkfield segment, at the heart of the fault deep in the Coast Range.
