How's Mars Looking?

Mars may seem more familiar than ever to planetary enthusiasts (you know who you are), thanks to generations of photos from space missions going back to 1965. But the really deep problems of Martian geology are still a puzzlement to geologists. But I took a look around and there's some intriguing progress, involving Mars's earliest history. (I also found that the Planetary Society has a very nice blog.)
