Why You Should Elect Geologists

A former geologist is running for mayor in my city, and I got to thinking about what assets geologists bring to public life. Digging around, I learned that both Gen. Colin Powell and China's premier Wen Jiabao (shown here) started with geology degrees. So did Bruce Babbitt, Herbert Hoover, and others. Someone who knows geology can help bring about a better future.
