Earth Art
Tuesday January 31, 2006
One sideline of exploring geology has been Earth art. How do artists see what geologists see? Do they even see the same things at all? And is there room in a scientist's life for an artistic sensibility? I've done a series of articles over the years that I recently tied together into one larger collage. And just the other week someone told me about Lotte Glob and her work out in the Scottish highlands. And just this weekend I enjoyed the splendid, moving work of Jesse Reichek, set in the inimitable countryside of Marin County, California. See some of those images on my Fotothing page.
