About Sedimentary Rocks

Wednesday September 14, 2005
After the igneous rocks come sedimentary rocks. These are also called stratified (layered) rocks, and all of them have stories to tell about the surface of the Earth, because that's where they are formed. (Of course, most of the stories are about the bottom of the sea, but that's part of the surface too.) Sedimentary rocks are also the only rocks with fossils.
