Zircon revisited

First there was zircon, precious to geologists for its usefulness in tracing sediment paths and deep-time dating. Then baddeleyite, its sister zirconium mineral, became precious to consumers as the feedstock for cubic zirconia--and also great for geologic dates. Now zirconolite joins the sisterhood as the best mineral yet for uranium-lead dating. Meet them all in this article.
