Latest word on the dinosaur extinction

Tuesday March 15, 2005
One of the Geological Society of America's greatest public services is that it posts GSA Today for all to read. In this the March 2005 issue is a review of the end-Cretaceous dinosaur extinction by two leading researchers, including the author of a recent book on the subject. Twenty-five years after Luis Alvarez and coauthors galvanized the field with the impact hypothesis, we've learned a lot and opened up plenty of new questions to work on. Also, be sure to read the "GSA Geotales" section on page 20.
