Memories of coal

When I was a kid in the mid-1960s, we moved to a house that had a big pile of coal in the cellar. We used it up by burning it in the fireplace, where I learned to appreciate it. Much of the world still relies on coal, so here's a little more about its use in the domestic setting. Read more...
