Quake Forecast Gets More Ink
Friday April 16, 2004
The experimental forecast of a southern California earthquake some time before September was the subject of a press conference at the Seismological Society of America meeting in Palm Springs. Vladimir Keilis-Borok correctly refused to speak more about his forecast while his research paper is yet unpublished. Look past the headlines of "Scientist remains mum" and see how well this kind of science is being conducted and reported. It's a refreshing change from Syzygy and GeoForecaster-style quackery.
