Mars Announcement Coming

I'm on tenterhooks with the news that the Mars science team will hold a formal press conference Tuesday--in Washington, not Pasadena. This is a sign of something bigger than the usual. Presumably they have evidence for a definitive statement about the Martian environment and the presence of water.

Opportunity is the craft that examined actual bedrock. These spherules have got to be tektites; nothing else could be so spherical. I don't believe there's evidence of standing water. We'll see how wrong I am tomorrow.
