Restoring Scientific Integrity
Thursday February 19, 2004
The Union of Concerned Scientists has issued a 46-page report making a case that the Bush administration has seriously distorted the use of science in making policy. Here's the top page of the Union's campaign. I have to say that while scientists shouldn't run the government or have their conclusions slavishly followed, the last few years have seen some striking misuses and dismissals of sound research as the government--not just the White House, but Congress too--goes on its merry way in dangerous ignorance.
